Delete your Aetherphone account

This page explains how to delete your Aethernet account, the account you use with the Aetherphone plugin and the Aetherphone companion app. Deleting an account removes it from both.

Each character you verify has its own account. Deleting removes the account that is currently signed in, so if you verified more than one character, delete each account separately.

How to delete your account

  1. In the Aetherphone plugin: open the phone (type /phone in the game chat), open Settings, go to Account, choose Delete account and confirm. Deletion takes effect immediately. It is not available while the account is suspended.
  2. In the companion app: open Settings, choose Delete account, type DELETE and confirm. Deletion takes effect immediately. It is not available while the account is suspended.
  3. By email: write to privacy@aetherphone.net with the subject "Delete my account", and include your character name and home world. We will ask you to confirm that the character is yours, in the same way you signed in, and then delete the account. We complete email requests within one month.

What is deleted

Deleting your account permanently erases:

  • Your account and profiles, including your handle, display name, bio, pictures and in-app phone number
  • Your posts, comments, stories, reactions, poll votes, listings and events
  • Your ChocoChat messages and conversations, and your encryption keys
  • Your Velvet profile, photos, posts, connections and messages
  • Every photo, video and voice note you uploaded
  • Your contacts, follows, followers, blocks, saved posts and notifications
  • Your Aether Coin balance and history, cosmetic items and any linked Patreon membership
  • Your sign-in sessions and registered devices

The deletion cannot be undone.

What is kept

  • Messages other people received. Aethergram messages you sent stay available to the person you sent them to until they clear the conversation. Group chats you created stay available to their other members, without your messages. Copies already downloaded to other people's devices may remain there.
  • Community radio stations you created. These are not removed automatically. Contact us if you want them removed.
  • Safety and moderation records. Reports about your account and records of moderation actions are kept so that repeated abuse can be recognized.
  • Records linked to your character. Suspension records and Aether Coin restrictions linked to your character are kept for up to 365 days. If you sign in again with the same character during that time, you start with an empty profile, but an active suspension, coin restrictions and cosmetic items you bought still apply.
  • Gamba records. Records of past games are kept for their normal retention period. Blackjack hand histories and closed private tables have no time limit and stay linked to your character.
  • Backups. Deleted data leaves our backups after about 30 days. Photos and other media uploaded before 21 July 2026 also remain in an archive of our previous storage, with no set end date. We do not restore deleted accounts from backups.
  • Legal obligations. Where the law requires us to keep specific data, we keep it for as long as that obligation lasts.
